Why Maharashtra has become hub for militant attacks: Pawar | Reacting to the recent serial bomb blasts in Pune, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has wondered why Maharashtra is being primarily targeted by militant. "So, it is happening
in that area, why it is happening in that area? Why is it repeating in that area?
So, it is the responsibility for those who are looking after the intelligence
and others to keep a close eye on that type of element and take effective action,"
said Pawar. Four low-intensity serial blasts took place within a one-km range
on the busy Junglee Maharaj Road in Pune on Wednesday in which one person has
been injured. The first explosion occurred around 7.30 p.m. near Balgandharva
Rang Mandir, an auditorium on Junglee Maharaj Road . The second explosion occurred
in a dustbin outside the popular fast food joint McDonald's. Soon after, the third
and fourth blasts went off at Dena Bank and Garware Chowk, in the same vicinity,
with the explosive material planted in cycles. The police defused another bomb
within the next one hour.
