Marykom in Olympic quarterfinals | | MC Mary Kom stormed into the quarterfinals of the Women’s
51-kg boxing here on Sunday. The five-time world champion and one of India’s strongest
medal hopes, Marykom prevailed over her Polish opponent Karolina Michalczuk 19-14,
with the scoresheet that read 3-3, 5-4,7-3 and 4-4. Marykom, who gave a perfect
birthday gift to her twins, will fight her quarterfinal bout on Monday against
the Tunisian pugilist, and a victory will ensure her a medal in the Olympics.
