Janata Dal (JD-U) slams Team Anna |
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Convenor and
chief of Janata Dal-united (JD-U) Sharad Yadav, on Saturday, slammed veteran anti-graft
crusader Anna Hazare and his aides for painting all lawmakers in the same colour.
Interacting with mediapersons here, Yadav said, “How can they say that there is
no honest person in the parliament? What kind of an allegation is this? By what
authority do they say this? They are abusing the federal structure. Why will anyone
believe what they are saying? If they want to cleanse the parliament from the
bad elements then they are free to do it. No one is objecting to that and no one
is stopping them. If by taking this step they can achieve success then our wishes
are with them.” On the ninth day of the agitation of Team Anna, Hazare, in a surprise
move, announced that he and his associates Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and
Gopal Rai, would call off their fast on Friday. He announced to provide a political
alternative to people in the next 2014 national polls to achieve their aim to
get Lokpal Bill passed which would help to root out corruption in the country.
Hazare's team had demanded the setting up of a Special Investigation Team (SIT)
of retired judges of Supreme and High Courts, to probe charges of corruption against
15 cabinet ministers, including the Prime Minister. They had sought the transferring
of cases against political party leaders, which are being probed by the federal
agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to the SIT.
