JK Rowling unveils online Harry Potter book club for kids | JK Rowling has launched an online book club for young readers and is
set to speak to her fans about the supernatural world of Harry Potter during a
live web-chat on October 11th. According to US publishers Scholastic, the publishers
of the boy wizard series and developers of the its Reading Club website said that
the new site would serve as a tool for parents and teachers as well as children
looking to discover the joy of books through their own accord, Contactmusic reported.
The publishing house also announced that the new site will be acting as the number
one online destination for Potter fans. The webcast will feature the 47-year-old
author interacting with young fans face to face, the first time that she has had
the opportunity to do so since 2007. It will also give the author chance to discuss
the website a little more, Pottermore was launched in April this year to help
Potter fans gain something of a tighter insight into the world of Hogwarts. Rowling
will be releasing her first book, since the Potter franchise came to an end, later
this year, titled ‘The Casual Vacancy.’ The new novel will be her first book that
is aimed at a solely adult readership.
