Over 100 swine flu deaths reported in India | The total number of swine flu deaths in India has crossed 100, according to Naresh Dayal, Secretary of the Central Health Ministry. Taking to reporters here on Tuesday, Dayal, said, "Total number of deaths has crossed century. It stands at 101. One
death has been reported from Goa on Tuesday. We have unconfirmed reports about
two deaths reported from Karnataka. The total number of states and Union territories
which have reported swine flu cases is 28. The total number of states which have
reported deaths due to swine flu is 9." India recorded its first H1N1 case in
Hyderabad in May and since then the virus has spread across the country. The H1N1
virus, commonly known as swine flu, emerged in April in the United States and
Mexico , and has spread internationally. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has
termed H1N1 swine flu as unstoppable because many countries are not keeping a
track and precise count of the virus cases.
