Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday invited Japanese businessmen to the forthcoming Global Investors' Summit to boost industrial, commercial and economic relations between the two countries. Addressing mediapersons here, Modi said the summit would provide an opportunity to promote business and strengthen Indo-Japanese partnership. “I invite all of you to the 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit ' which will take place on 11th 12th and 13th January, 2013. The bigwigs of the industrial world of India gather under one roof, more than 100 countries participate and it is a great opportunity for business. I invite all of you," Modi said. He also hailed the strengthening industrial relations between India and Japan . “I have to thank you for the warm reception that I was accorded in 2007. So, I want to express my gratitude, and I think, that no one can imagine the way Japan has accepted Gujarat,” he stated. Modi also heaped praise on the people of Japan for their decision-making abilities. " Japan has numerous qualities and one thing which I know and I want to mention is that people of Japan assess and dissect various issues before taking any decision. They deeply evaluate about the repercussion of their decision after five or ten years. They take a step only after being fully convinced," he added. Modi is in Japan with the aim of convincing Suzuki leadership to substantially scale production at its Gujarat plant from the existing 250,000 cars every year. Suzuki was the first foreign player to make an impact through its 1981 joint venture with government-owned Maruti, and the Japanese major now owns over 50 percent of the equity, with the government having sold its entire stake in 2007. During his visit to Tokyo , Modi is scheduled to meet Japan 's Deputy Prime Minister Katsuya Okada, Economy Trade and Industry Minister Yukido Edano, Land Transport and Tourism Minister Yuichiro Hata and Foreign Affairs Minister Koichiro Gemba, besides former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
