Gunmen kill 14 during 'The Dark Knight Rises' movie screening in Denver | A masked gunman has killed 14 people and wounded up to 40 others during a showing of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises in Denver, Colorado. Earlier it was reported that at least ten people were killed and dozens of others wounded after assailants opened fire during a shootout scene at a midnight screening of the film. Two men, who were said to be wearing gas masks opened fire on people at the cinema theatre in a mall in Denver. Sources claimed that the Century 16 movie
theatre in Denver was at near full capacity. "People inside thought they that
the shooting was part of the movie - they ran screaming from the theatre," the
Daily Express quoted one eyewitness, as saying. Police estimates have said that
as many as 40 people are injured and 10 people have been pronounced dead. According
to sources, the trailers were about the start as a tear gas canister was released
in the movie theatre. A local UK police spokeswoman Cassidee Carlson has said
that "the scene is still very active and we have little information for release
at this time." Currently, one man is in police custody while the other, thought
to be involved, is still on the loose.
