Ibrahimovic becomes world's highest paid footballer with £220k-a-week PSG deal | Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become the world's highest paid footballer after agreeing to a mega deal worth 220,000 pound-a-week after tax with super
rich French club Paris St. Germain. Ibrahimovic sealed an 18 million pound move
to PSG, which is backed by oil-rich Qatari investment, from Italian giants AC
Milan. "It's true I don't know that much about Ligue 1 - but Ligue 1 knows who
I am!" The Sun quoted Ibrahimovic, as saying. French president Francois Hollande
intends to impose a 75 per cent tax rate on anyone earning more than a 784k pounds
a year. But Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raoila wangled a deal that gets him paid
at least 9.4 million pound a year even after the government's cut, and that rises
to 11.4 million pound- a-year if bonus targets are met, meaning a whopping 220,000
pound straight into his account. Ibrahimovic further said: "PSG made something
impossible possible. Another dream came true."
