Normal Indo-Pak ties possible only if 26/11 perpetrators brought to justice: Krishna | External Affairs Minister S.M.Krishna met his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar on
the sidelines of a conference on Afghanistan here, and reiterated the importance
of taking action to bring perpetrators of the November 26, 2008 Mumbai terror
strike to justice. According to official sources, he emphasised that nomalisation
of relations between India and Pakistan can only be achieved in an atmosphere
free of terror, and added that there was a need for creation of the right atmosphere.
The activities of Jamaat-ud-Dawa founder Hafez Saeed, including his pouring of
venom on India was pointed out by the minister, sources said. Issues related to
Sarabjit Singh and other prisoners were also raised during the bilateral meeting.
The sources further said that both foreign minister shared their assessment of
the outcome of the foreign secretary level talks that took place earlier this
week. Foreign Minister Khar assured that the new Pakistan Government is committed
to former Prime Minister Gilani's goal of bridging relations with India . Both
leaders shared views on Krishna's forthcoming visit to Pakistan . The meeting
lasted for 30 minutes and was held in a cordial atmosphere, the sources said.
