Pakistan requests India to share evidence on Abu Jundal

Visiting Pakistan Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani on Tuesday said that Islamabad has seen media reports about Abu Jundal, one of the alleged handlers behind the 26/11 terror strike in Mumbai, and has requested the Indian authorities to share the evidence collected “and we will extend every possible help in this regard”. Jundal’s role in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks is likely to figure in the foreign-secretary-level talks that take place on Wednesday and Thursday. Jilani has since arrived in New Delhi , and is likely to meet Kashmiri separatist leaders this evening. Issues related to the next steps in the composite dialogue, including steps to promote greater-to-greater people contact, security, the Kashmir issue, prisoner exchanges and border related issues, will be discussed. On the Sarabjit Singh release issue, Jilani said home ministries of both countries are looking into the matter and would act appropriately. He also said that Pakistan would like to extend every possible help to India to eradicate terrorism.
