Suu Kyi bears 'no grudges' against Burmese military who kept her under house arrest

Nobel Peace Prize winner and Burmese pro-democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi has said that she has no grudges against the country's military that kept her under house arrest and considers them people to work with toward reform. Suu Kyi, in a press conference, said he focus is on practical matters and not on 'abstract ideas of justice'. "I certainly do not bear any grudges against the military regime," The Daily Express quoted Suu Kyi, as saying. "I never think of them as those people who placed me under house arrest for so many years. This is not the way we bring about national reconciliation," she said. "I think of them as people with whom I would like to work in order to bring reform to our country," she added. Suu Kyi also stressed that she wants 'democracy-friendly, human rights-friendly' investments that protect the environment of her country. She recently met with President Francois Hollande on the first day of her four-day visit to France to end a European tour that has taken her to Switzerland , Norway, Ireland and Britain.
