CBI seeks Andhra HC's permission to conduct narco-analysis test on Jaganmohan Reddy | The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a petition in a court here on Monday seeking permission to conduct a narco-analysis test on jailed Member of Parliament YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Reddy, who is in judicial custody
till June 25, has threatened to go on fast in protest against the move. Reddy's
two-day CBI custody ended on Sunday and he was produced before a special CBI court
on Monday. The Andhra Pradesh High Court had on Friday sent Jagan to two-day CBI
custody. He was earlier questioned by the investigating agency for five days till
June 7. The CBI had arrested Reddy on May 27 after questioning him for three days.
The next day he was produced in the court, which sent him to judicial custody
till June 11. Reddy allegedly conspired with his father and then chief minister
YS Rajasekhara Reddy to dole out favours to companies which made investments into
his firms on quid pro quo basis. Besides Reddy, former state minister Mopidevi
Venkataramna, leading industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad and bureaucrat K V Brahmananda
Reddy are in jail. The CBI had booked Jagan and 72 others last year following
direction from the high court.
