Rajiv Shukla terms Luke Pomersbach case as 'individual misbehaviour' |
Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council chairman Rajiv Shukla on Friday
termed the molestation case involving Royal Challengers Bangalore player Luke Pomersbach
as "an individual misbehaviour of an individual player". "We are not responsible for this. There
were no official parties in IPL 4 and 5. So the incident was not connected with an official IPL
party. It was an individual misbehaviour of an individual player," Shukla told media here. "If
some individual player does something in his individual
capacity in a hotel, IPL has nothing to do with it," he added. Shukla further
said: "Let the police deal with it first, do their business. It is a police case
and we will wait for the police report." Delhi Police earlier today arrested a
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player for allegedly misbehaving with a woman
at the bar of five-star hotel. An Indian-American woman was allegedly molested
and her fiancee beaten up by a IPL Royal Challengers Bangalore's Australian cricketer
Luke Pomersbach at the Maurya Sheraton Hotel. According to reports, Pomersbach
allegedly misbehaved with the woman, a US citizen of Indian origin, at the IPL
after-match party. A case of molestation and hurt has been registered against
him.
