"The Maoist called for a shutdown against the 'Green Hunt’. We are facing lot of problems due to this. Our income is getting affected because of the shutdown," Singh said. Irked bus drivers complained that because of shutdown, they were not able to earn money and it is difficult for them to run their families. "It is getting difficult for us to earn a living and these shutdowns should not be called frequently," said Suraj, a bus driver. Normal life also came to a standstill in Jhargram region West Bengal . "Shutdowns have always been a part of Jangalmahal but it has never benefited the people. The means of transportation has been badly affected.
