Trial of Aarushi-Hemraj murder case to start from May 11 | (Uttar Pradesh): A Ghaziabad court on Wednesday transferred the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case to a sessions court
while rejecting dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar's counsel's contention
that the documents provided by the CBI weren't enough. The court said that trial
of the Talwars' in connection with the case would commence from May 11. The Talwars'
counsel gave the court five numbers and wanted a call record of these numbers.
However, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said that their closure report
was not based on these call records, hence they cannot provide it to them. Meanwhile,
Nupur Talwar's bail plea and the review petition of the Talwars will also come
up in the Supreme Court. In a new twist, Additional Solicitor General Haren Raval,
who was representing the CBI in the Supreme Court, has withdrawn from the case.
This came after apex court Justice Patnaik had pulled Raval up for trying to threaten
the court. Nupur Talwar has been in jail for ten days. Earlier, Nupur Talwar on
May 4 told the Supreme Court that there were several inconsistencies in the CBI
investigation in the Aarushi Talwar-Hemraj double murder case in which she is
an accused.
