Maoists kill abducted police officer in Odisha | The Maoists shot dead a police officer after his
abduction in Odisha on Tuesday. The body of abducted Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI)
Kruparam Majhi of Dharambandha Police Outpost was found in the forest areas of
Bharuamunda, about 25 kilometres from Nuapada district headquarters. Majhi was
on his way to a CRPF base camp near Sunabeda sanctuary on the Odisha-Chhatisgarh
border when a group of armed rebels abducted him. Constable Debanarayan Sahu,
who accompanied Majhi was, however, spared by the ultras. The killing of the abducted
police official comes close on the heels of kidnapping of the two Italians in
Kandhamal district and BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka in Koraput district by the ultras.
