Forbes magazine reveals Man U is world's richest club for eighth successive year | Manchester United has topped the Forbes magazine's list as world's richest football club again for the eighth year in a row, following another successful year under Sir Alex Ferguson by his men. United's old foes and neighbors City have still not broken into the
top 10 of the rankings, moving up just two places to 13th. The next richest English
team after United was Arsenal in fourth place, followed by Chelsea at seventh,
eighth-placed Liverpool and Tottenham in 11th. Spanish giants Real Madrid are
second in the table, followed by rivals Barcelona . Germany 's Bayern Munich completes
the top five. "United's global fan-base of some 330million also helps make it
the most valuable team in any sport," The Sun quoted the report, as saying. United
landed 103.5 million pound in commercial revenue alone last season. And the Glazer
family, who own the club, are thought to be considering putting some of the club
on Singapore 's stock exchange, which would raise even more funds.
