Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said inter-district Arunachal
highway, passing through the middle of the hilly tribal State, would be completed
by 2013. Addressing an election rally at Pasighat ahead of the upcoming State
Assembly elections, Prime Minister Dr. Singh said: "Many schemes have been launched
in the last five years. Eleven districts of the State are being connecting through
the inter-state highway of Arunachal. The length of the highway will be over 2,000
kilometres, which will be completed by 2013. The State needs a government which
can carry forward developmental projects of the last five years with a fast pace."
The elections due to be held on Oct.13 will be the first major test for the Congress
coalition after registering a thumping victory in the General Elections for the
Lok Sabha in May. Counting of is to be held on October 22 and results would be
declared on the same day. |
