Warne admits on Twitter that his marriage is over | Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne has announced
on Twitter that his marriage with Simone Callahan is over following reports of him being in a relationship with British actress-cum model Liz Hurley. The former
Australian cricketer posted a statement on his website which he drew attention
to using his Twitter account. His disclosure follows that of Hurley who revealed
on Sunday through Twitter that her three-year marriage to Arun Nayar is over.
According to The Telegraph, using strikingly similar turn of phrase, both Warne
and Hurley emphasized that they had been separated for some time and that friends
and family were already aware of the situation. Warne, 41, tweeted this morning:
"Hey guys been a long day ... I have posted a short factually correct paragraph
to clarify situation on my website http://www.shanewarne.com Apologies for website
crash... It's now working... Hope that clears things up for everyone who is interested...
Have a good day/night .." The website statement read: "13.12.10 Clarification
Published by ShaneWarne Sadly and unfortunately, Simone and I split up a while
ago, our close friends and family were informed at that time. It is a private
matter so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be
good parents." Meanwhile Hurley, 45, tweeted on Sunday following tabloid reports
of the affair: "Not a great day. For the record, my husband Arun and I separated
a few months ago. Our close family and friends were aware of this." The pair has
conducted a public flirtation via Twitter since the summer. Warne has three children
while Hurley has one son, Damian, by an American businessman. XXXXXXXXXXXXX |
