Govt approves deputation of Group A officers of DoT to TCIL

     The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave its nod to the proposal of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in relation with deputation of Group A officers of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL). The approval given by the Union Cabinet is intended to allow Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd to fill up such number of posts on deputation from Group 'A' officers of Department of Telecommunications for a period of three years with effect from 1.10.2010 as per DPE (Department of Public Enterprise) guidelines subject to maximum of 10 per cent of the total number of below Board level posts in TCIL with the exemption from the rule of immediate absorption for a period of three years. Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL), incorporated in 1978, is a leading ISO - 9001: 2000 certified, Mini Ratna category-I public sector undertaking with a strong base in Telecommunications & Information Technology. TCIL has been assigned the task of being the implementing agency for Pan-African e-Network project, which will enable sharing of Indian expertise with all the member countries of African Union. The network will primarily provide Tele-education, Tele-medicine and Very Very Important Persons (VVIP) connectivity. TCIL requires a good number of experienced and talented senior officers for execution of the time bound project of Pan-African e-Network and other ongoing overseas/inland projects besides the expected projects in pipeline. This arrangement will provide effective and efficient utilization of pool of technical manpower available in the Department and enable TCIL to meet its short-term requirement of technical personnel, said a Government release.
