Weightlifting coach Harnam Singh gives thumbs up to conditions at Games Village | National weightlifting chief coach Harnam Singh on Monday described the Games Village meant for Commmonwealth Games as fine and said he had no problems in the rooms. "We are staying in tower
number 29. Since the day we shifted here till today, everything is absolutely
fine. We have got every facility here along with hygienically secured environment,
with no problem at all," said Singh. Singh also rubbished reports of discovered
in a South African athlete's room. On Sunday, South Africa 's High Commissioner
to India , Harris Majeke, told reporters a snake had been found in the room of
an athlete at the Games village. "The issue was fake; if there would be any snake
in the room then he must have shown it to the people by recording it in his cell
phone. It is necessary to show the proof of any statement," said Singh. Some athletes
and visitng officials have earlier complained of dirtiness and unfinished work
in some of the living quarters. Some of them already housed in the towers continued
to complain about the lack of cleanliness. Delhi 's Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit,
meanwhile, has stated that the village, where 8,000 athletes from 71 nations will
stay during the sporting event, would be fully ready on Wednesday (September 29).
