Ayodhya verdict: CCS to meet at PM's residence, BJP leaders at Advani's place | The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) will meet at Prime
Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's residence at 5 p.m. on Thursday to discuss issues concerning security in the country and the Ayodhya title verdict of the Lucknow
Bench of the Allahabad High Court. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
leaders are also expected to meet at senior party leader Lal Krishna Advani's
residence at around 6 p.m. to discuss the judgement. Earlier today, Lucknow District
Magistrate Anil Sagar said the Allahabad High Court has cautioned against
interpretation of the judgement. He said the full verdict would be posted on the High
Court's website. "The full verdict will be posted on the website of the Allahabad High
Court www.allahabadhighcourt.in. The High Court has cautioned against
interpretation of the judgement. Three separate copies of the synopsys of the three
judges will be handed over to the media after the verdict," said Sagar. "The media
will receive the three copies of the judgements synopsys at the District
Commissioner's office," he added. Lucknow Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of
Police Rajeev Krishna made a similar plea in the presence of representatives of about
hundred media organisations. The verdict in the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid
dispute will decide whether the 2.7 acres of disputed land on which the Babri Masjid
stood before it was demolished on December 6, 1992, belongs to the Sunni Central
Waqf Board or to the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha. The court has been turned
into a virtual fortress and declared a no access zone. Additional civil and police
officers have been being deployed at sensitive places, including the Allahabad High
Court and its Lucknow bench premises. Administrations in all districts are directed to
ensure that anti-social elements do not disturb the law and order situation. The
security of the three high court judges has been tightened. About 20 personnel of the
PAC and five CRPF personnel have been deployed at the residence of all three
judges. They have been also provided an escort and pilot car and one PSO. A DSP
rank officer has been made in charge of the judges' security. About 25 districts of the
state, including Agra, Allahabad, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Behraich, Bulandsahar,
Gonda, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Meerut, Moradabad, Mau, Varanasi, Faizabad,
Mathura, Bijnore, Muzaffarnagar and Lucknow have been identified as sensitive or
hyper sensitive, and therefore, special security precautions have taken for these
places. On Wednesday, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said the Centre has
taken adequate measures and deployed enough security forces all over the country to
assist state governments to maintain peace. He said all the state governments have
been advised to be firm and expressed the confidence that they will be able to
maintain public order and peace.
