With a clear mandate for strengthening political clout in the region, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi arrived here amid much fanfare on Friday. During his two-day visit, Gandhi is expected to hold hectic meetings to formulate effective political strategies to revive the party's fortunes in the State. Gandhi, who was received by party leaders and workers, would be traveling to the cities of Bangalore , Dharwad and Gulbarga in Karnataka during his visit. It has been reported that the visit of the Gandhi scion seems to have ruffled the feathers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is presently in power in the State and is keeping a hawk's eye on the developments.
