Musharraf vows to play 'proactive role in country's politics' following politicians' failure

Former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has charged both the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of disappointing the country, saying the leaders of these two major parties have failed to fulfil their promises. "Both the political parties are in habit of singing a tune of democracy all the time, while their own attitudes are un-democratic. Now the people have become aware of this, but at the moment, they have no other choice," The Daily Times quoted Musharraf, as saying. During a meeting with Pakistan Aman Party President Haji Gulzar Awan in Dubai , Musharraf said that Pakistani people want a change in the leadership "badly," and vowed to play a "proactive role in the country's politics in future." Musharraf claimed that his newly floated All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) will provide a competent leadership to the country. The retired general also reiterated that he would soon announce the date for his return to Pakistan.
