Indian Air strength is one third of China: IAF Chief | Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal P.V.Naik, revealed on Wednesday that country's air force power is just one third of the capacity of China. Air Chief Marshal
Naik also said that India is far short of aircrafts required to meet the security challenges it faces, but added that the government is doing a lot to augment air
force capability. The air chief's statement gains significance in the backdrop
of the media report about the Chinese incursions along the Line of Actual Control
(LAC). Naik said there were two ways to counter China's reported incursions, one,
to take up weapons and go to the border and the second is to build systematic
weapons capability to tackle the threat. Earlier in August, the then Naval Chief
Sureesh Mehta had said that India could not compete with China on defence spending,
and warned New Delhi about Beijing's efforts of creating formidable military capabilities. |
