Delhi honour killing suspects sent to five days police custody | Three men arrested on charges of killing a couple and another woman in a case of suspected honour killing were
sent to five days of police custody by a court in New Delhi on Saturday. Mandeep Nagar, Ankit Chaudhury and Nakul Khari, the three accused were presented in the
Rohini Court and were later handed over to Delhi Police till July 1. "In this
case, the accused person was presented to the Rohini Court and the investigation
officer had moved an application for PC (Police Custody) remand for 10 days and
judge has accepted to grant five days of police custody to the accused persons,
so they will come before court on July 1," said Gajraj Singh, counsel for the
suspects. Singh further said that the accused were falsely implicated and claimed
that they were innocent. "They have been false implicating this case. This is
a media hype case. They are quite innocent persons, they have nothing to do with
the alleged offence," he said. Earlier, on Friday, the court had issued warrants
against the three men who were arrested by a team of Uttar Pradesh Police in Garh
Mukteshwar, about 90 kilometres from Ghaziabad. The three were on the run since
the triple murders were committed on Sunday. |
